Final-Countdown for the BEMER Young Riders Tour in Kronenberg

(Kronenberg/NED) The equestrian centre Peelbergen in Kronenberg, the Netherlands, will be the venue for the eighth and final leg of the BEMER Young Riders Tour on 21 and 22 September. The pilot project of the BEMER Riders Tour for the young U21 generation is entering its first finale and after the BEMER Young Riders Grand Prix of the international event from 5.00 pm on Thursday it will be clear who is the very first rider to win the title of “Young Rider of the Year”.

The current ranking leader comes from Germany: he is a former European Champion and could “seal” his success in the BEMER Young Riders Tour in Kronenberg. Matthis Westendarp from Wallenhorst is in pole position before the final leg, with 32 points from two smartly executed performances. The just 20-year-old 2021 European Champion and 2022 Europan team silver medallist scored points in Zuidwolde and Hagen a.T.W..

Behind him in the ranking, there are other young European talents: France, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Austria and the Netherlands dominate the following places. The best chances to challenge the current leader Matthis Westendarp for victory are his German colleague Johanna Beckmann (Löningen), the Italians Martina Guerriere and Giulia Mattioli, and the Belgian Roy van Beek.

On Wednesday, 21 September, a qualifying round will kick off proceedings, before the BEMER Young Riders Grand Prix on Thursday will determine which riders are going to receive starting places in the international BEMER Riders Tour in the 2023 season. These entries are highly coveted with the winner receiving four tickets for the series, second place overall receiving two spots in the BEMER Riders Tour and third place overall receiving one entry. In addition, there are non-cash prizes such as a top-quality safety helmet from UVEX.

The Peelbergen Equestrian Centre is the venue for the sporting countdown of the first season of the BEMER Young Riders Tour and host to the future of international show jumping. All competitions will be broadcast live on www.clipmyhorse.tv.
